On March 6, 2020, Greystone Nursing & Rehabilitation activated our preparedness plan for infectious diseases, which includes outbreaks of conditions such as COVID-19. The plan was activated in advance of confirmation of any cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas in order to detect and prevent the spread of this respiratory virus. We immediately began screening all employees, visitors, vendors and volunteers before entering the building, and refusing entry to anyone that failed any part of the screen. Current residents and those seeking admission to the facility were closely monitored for symptoms. We also began facilitating remote visits, such as video calls, to encourage as much interaction with our residents as possible while adhering to our infection control policies.
On March 12, 2020, in response to the confirmation of multiple COVID-19 cases in central Arkansas, the facility restricted entrance to those visiting residents receiving end of life care, employees, and essential medical personnel. The virus has disproportionately impacted the elderly, and these protocols are necessary. Anyone entering the facility remains subject to screening before entry. We are continuing to facilitate remote visitation and are focused on maintaining the physical and psychosocial health of our residents.
We acknowledge that these circumstances are difficult for our residents and their families, as well as our staff and their families. However, our efforts are for the benefit of the health and safety of our residents, their families and loved ones, and all employees. We are closely collaborating with public health officials on a local, state and national level, and will continue to provide updated information as it becomes available.
Due to these protocols, we are currently unable to conduct facility tours for prospective residents and their loved ones. Please refer to the facility photographs on this website, and call the facility to obtain additional information regarding the facility’s layout and environment. Thank you for your understanding and support.
